Chelta Marlene Jones

Chelta Marlene Jones, a loving mother, treasured grandmother, sister and beloved friend was called home to be with Our Creator on November 21, 2022 in Longmont, Colorado. She was born August 26, 1970 to Marlene Grace Siebert and Gregory Dee Anderson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 52 years old.

Chelta is survived by her 3 sons and their families, Jared L. Wege (Raleana Cordova), Sherman Sutton Jones (Rachel Jones), and Austin Gregory Jones (Kaitlyn Reno). She was loved by her 13 precious grandchildren, Celeste, Cody, Kira, James, Kristina, Deja, Jack, Ashlynn, Hudson, Noel, Avaeh, Sherman, and Serenity. Chelta is also survived by 2 sisters, Deborah, Kelly; and 1 brother, Corey.

Chelta was a joyful, wholesome, loving, God-fearing woman. She was deeply vested in her family, spending her life and time with those she loved. She raised her 3 sons to be incredible men. She spent most of her time with her family and felt completed by them all. Chelta lived in Grand Junction with her son, Sherman, his wife and children. She also loved dearly the time spent with her son, Austin; playing with the kids, etc. She loved being with Jared and Raleana. Chelta was a devout follower of our True Messiah, Yeshua Christ, and the ways of The Creator.

In her last years, Chelta was focused on building a future for herself and those closest to her; taking care of and loving her father in his last days, recently buying a home with her son, Sherman, advocating for women and children with no voice, and mostly spreading the Gospel and the love of Yeshua Christ. Chelta was an extremely hard worker and was generously kind to any one in need that she encountered. She shared her heart with so many and the light she brought was so easily recognized whenever she walked into any room. The beautiful memories we have all created with her will bring never-ending smiles and bright thoughts that will be forever treasured. That warm, contagious laugh, Chelta will be immensely loved and missed forever.

A funeral service for Chelta will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary & Crematory, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, Colorado 81505. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 12:30 PM at New Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita, CO.
