Claude Theodore Riley Jr.

Claude Theodore Riley Jr., age 88, of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. Claude Theodore Riley Jr. was born on March 10, 1935, in Ventura, California, to Claude Riley Sr. and Ella Trujillo. He spent his childhood in California, Canada, and Louisiana before graduating from Riverton High School in Riverton, Wyoming. A proud member of the United States Navy, Claude dedicated himself to his country. At the age of 24, he embraced Jesus as his Lord and Savior, finding deep meaning in the Scripture passage 2 Corinthians 5:8: “...To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” He was a devoted member of Pear Park Baptist Church.

Claude is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Riley Sr. and Ella Riley; his son William Riley; and his brother Robert Riley. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Riley; his son Claude T. Riley III; his daughter Christy Lynn Harris; his brother Jud Riley; his sister Pat Wood; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service in Claude’s honor will be held on November 15, 2024, at Pear Park Baptist Church (3102 E Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81504) at 11 a.m., followed by a burial service at the Veteran Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado (2830 Riverside Pkwy, Grand Junction, CO 81501) at 1 p.m.
