June 10, 1943 – October 27, 2011
C. Wayne Richardson was born in Sterling, CO in 1943 to Donald and Ruth Richardson. He moved to Grand Junction during his grade school years and attended Central High School. He was married to Wilma Gower in 1960. Then in 1967 they moved to Glenwood Springs with their daughter, Diana (Dee Dee) and son, Don where they lived for 35 years. Wayne worked in auto parts in Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs and then at Holy Cross Energy in Glenwood Springs for 27 years as a mechanic until he retired. He had many hobbies in his lifetime. He did some scuba diving, served on the ski patrol, developed film, fixed boat motors, water skied, enjoyed fishing and camping, and restored an old Model A pickup, to name a few. His stained glass work was a wonderful hobby that his family enjoys and will cherish. Wayne was a man behind the scenes in many instances, but the support and help he gave was much appreciated. He was a good provider for his family and a hard worker all his life. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. A service celebrating him in our lives will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 395 31 5/8 Rd. at 2:00 Saturday, November 5. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090B North 12th St., Grand Junction, CO 81506, who were an enormous support to Wayne, his family, and all the lives they touch.
