

Coleen was born on November 18, 1940, in Paonia, Colorado, to Charles Albert and Zula Elizabeth (Austin) Bailey. She spent her childhood in Paonia and graduated from high school there. Coleen attended Mesa College and earned a two-year Commercial in Arts Degree, and later received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secretarial Science from Colorado State College in Greeley. She became a high school business teacher. Coleen was teaching school in California when she met Pryor DeWayne Davis, and they married in Paonia. In addition to California, the couple also resided in Steamboat Springs, Colorado before settling in Fruita in 2003. Coleen was a member of Fruita Faith Baptist Church. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and her church. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and scrapbooking.
Coleen is survived by her son, Bob Davis of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; daughter, Tammy Lacock of Three Hills, Alberta; brother, Charles “Bud” Bailey, of Grand Junction; sisters, Dorothy Halvorson of Monument, Colorado, Jane Soderquist of Montrose, Colorado, Rosalie Lassiter of Holton, Kansas, and Lois Olsen of Craig, Colorado; 8 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, DeWayne Davis; parents, Albert and Zula Bailey; and sister, Donna Turner.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Fruita Faith Baptist Church, with a graveside service to follow at Delta City Cemetery in Delta, Colorado.
