Courtni was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to her parents, Tom and Tammi (Matthews) Bieser of Mesa, Colorado. Courtni is survived by three siblings, Camile (Roy) Hisel and thier son, Barrett (age 5) of Mesa, Colorado; Britni (Chuck) Branson and thier son, Gage (age 2) of Montrose, Colorado and Joe Bieser of Mesa, Colorado; her grandparents, Tom and Sue Matthews of Mesa, Colorado and Bill and Pat Bieser of Mesa, Colorado. Courtni had a large extended family. She grew up in the small town of Mesa and went to school in Collbran where she graduated from Plateau Valley School. She enjoyed activities such as sports, 4-H, riding horses, snow boarding, fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling. She married Jay Cowden of Grand Junction on July 9th, 2004, and lived in Grand Junction. They were blessed with two children, Hailey Cowden (age 4) and Waylon Cowden (age 2). Later, she was divorced and moved back to Mesa, where she worked for CC Enterprises as a flagger and was a lift operator at Powderhorn Ski Resort. Courtni had many nicknames such as Shortnin, Hollywood, Nascar and Cordizzle Fry. She was a great mom that lived her life to the fullest one day at a time. Those who knew her the best, said "She lived life like she stole it". The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mesa Community Center, with a luncheon following at her parents house. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Courtni Bieser Memorial Fund at Grand Valley National Bank, 925 N. 7th Street Grand Junction, CO 81501 (account #8093301).
