Dale A Lange passed into the arms of his heavenly father on May 10, 2017 at the Courtyard Care Center in Fruita following a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Winchester Kansas on June 24, 1930 to Clarence and Rose Stewart Lange and spent his childhood in Topeka, Kansas and Cameo, Colorado. He married Carol M. Jenkins on September 14, 1952 and she survives.
Dale worked most of his life as a truck driver but his favorite past times were gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, bowling and exploring. As a child growing up during the depression he experienced hunger, however; he made sure that his family never experienced it. His children, and those who knew him best, know he was a teacher that lead by example. He was always willing to help anyone with any project that he was asked and always took care of his family and friends with a hand up and never expected anything in return. He was always a man of honor and integrity to the extreme and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Carol; four sons, Dale F. (Julia) of Whitewater, Roger of Grand Junction, Dwaine (Debby) of Mack, and Brian (Debra) of Boise, Idaho; one daughter, Linda (Mike) Barley of Grand Junction; two brothers, Bob Warford of Arkansas and Lloyd Warford (Fran) of Grand Junction; two sisters, Carol Ann DeLuna of Kansas, and Rosie Babcock; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers.
