Mr. Swartzendruber was a logger.
Survivors include two sons, Jacob of Goodland, Kansas, and Caleb of Libby, Montana; his parents, Leo and Shirley of Grand Junction; and three brothers, Jim of Silt, Steve of Paonia and Jon of Loveland.

Daniel Leo Swartzendruber was born on October 5, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa. He died at his cabin near Hotchkiss, Colorado, of natural causes, on January 6, 2015. He was 60 years old.
Dan grew up in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. He was the youngest of four sons born to Leo and Shirley Swartzendruber. He and his brothers loved to romp and play in the woods around their Glenwood home. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1973. Dan spent his adult years in Libby, Montana, where he worked as a logger. He married Connie Snyder in 1986; they divorced in 2005. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching his children play basketball and baseball. He moved back to Colorado in 2006, where he worked as a logger and as a miner at Oxbow Mine until October of 2013. His most enjoyable days were spent out of doors. He loved spending time with his friends and helping others.
Dan is survived by his two sons, Jacob Daniel of Goodland, Kansas, and Caleb Dean and wife, Natasha, of Libby, Montana; two step-children, April and Adrian Yavah; his parents, Leo and Shirley Swartzendruber of Grand Junction; brother, Jim and wife, Adrian, of Silt; brother, Steve and wife, Cindy, of Paonia; brother, Jon and wife, Sherell, of Loveland; numerous nieces and nephews and loving friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction.
