Born in Denver, CO, to Kenneth Sizer and Clara Underwood, Diana had a deep love for nature. She was an avid plant enthusiast and pursued her Master Gardener’s certificate while living in Denver. She also found great joy in feeding and watching birds from her kitchen table.
Diana worked for Coors Bottling Company as a loader operator until her retirement. It was at a dance studio that she met the love of her life, Dwight Walter. They married on August 5, 1982, and shared a life filled with adventure—dancing, camping, hot air balloon rides, and helicopter excursions.
With her marriage to Dwight, Diana embraced an instant family that included four children: Kathy, Rewa, Scott, and Dolores. She found joy in crafting, especially latch hooking, and made personalized rugs for each of the kids.
A devoted animal lover, Diana treated her pets as cherished family members. Her love for her furry companions was so strong that she often refused to leave them alone, even during Dwight’s hospital stays.
Diana will be remembered for her outspoken nature and her unwavering honesty. She spoke her mind without hesitation and never shied away from expressing exactly how she felt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and husband. She is survived by her children: Kathy McKinney (Shawn), Rewa Gaudern (Zeke), Dwight Walter (Jennifer), and Dolores Davis (Michael), as well as 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Diana’s legacy of love for animals, plants, adventure, and boldness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
