She met her husband, Jim Lamon, in Farmington, New Mexico, where they worked at the same bank. According to Jim, it was “love at first sight” and they got married on November 28, 1983.
Not long after, Jim and Dixie moved to Wenatchee, Washington, where they lived for 29 years. They attended Wenatchee First Assembly of God church where Dixie sang on the Praise & Worship team for over 20 years.
When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 2016 to be closer to the family.
She loved music, snow skiing, and cooking; but nothing compared to her love for Jesus. She lived for Him faithfully throughout her life and He was an anchor for her soul.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Lamon; children Mike Lamon (wife-Erin) of Leavenworth, Washington; Dana Lamon of Fernley, Nevada; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also remaining are siblings Daniel Enriquez (wife-Carmen) of Joliet, Illinois; Jean Garza (husband-Dave) from Denver, Colorado; Becky Gold (husband-Paul) from Grand Junction, Colorado; Ketta Enriquez from Atlanta, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. There is also a furry creature named Shiloh that dearly misses her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vidal and Elizabeth Enriquez; brother, Louie Enriquez (wife - Inez); and little Holly Ann Lamon.
A visitation for Dixie will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary & Crematory, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, Colorado 81505, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
