She married Kenneth D. Ball on May 18, 1941 in Moab, Utah. To this union, six children were born; Donald, Duane, Dick, Shirley, Kenny, and Darrell. Kenneth was a farmer and in their early years they lived in various Grand Valley locations, settling in the Fruitvale area where they lived for over 50 years and enjoyed farming a few acres. Dorothy was an exemplary homemaker and loved caring for her family, home, and yard. She was a member of the Grand Junction Church of Christ and her church family was also very important to her. After her children were nearly grown she worked outside the home in manufacturing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, and their son
Darrell. She is survived by the remaining five children, one brother, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. Internment will be at New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.
