Edith Louiese Slade passed away quietly on January 5, 2013 at the age of 74. She was born on January 14, 1938, to William Crockett Allen and Linda Zedeen Irwin (Elsie) of Grand Junction, CO.
Louiese spent her childhood in Grand Junction, and then over years lived in Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, and Wyoming as well. She married Grant McCollough, they divorced, then Max B. Slade, and they later divorced. She then married Larry Neil Slade.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and she had many hobbies and interests including: sewing, Facebook, gardening, her family, fishing, camping, and many others as well. She inspired others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more. We are all better people for having shared her love.
Louiese was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Dan Allen. She is survived by her sons: Ronald C. Slade and Max Scott Slade, Grand Junction, CO; Glen K. Slade, Dallas, TX; her daughter, Ann Olene Norris, of Kearny, AZ; her brothers: Welden Allen, of CA; Jim Allen, of Nevada; Ray Allen, of MS; Doug Allen, of CA; her sister, Kay Koestner, of NV; 14 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family held a memorial service for Louiese on January 5, 2013. Memorial contributions may be made in Louiese’s name to either Hospice & Palliative Care of Western CO (3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506) or Larchwood Inn (2845 N. 15th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506).
