

Ed was born September 9th 1933 to Henry and Katherine (Stroh) Willman, in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. The family then moved to Shoshone, Wyoming when Ed was twelve. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served during the Korean War on the USS Oriskany aircraft carrier.
His 20 year marriage to Helen Leone (Anderson) Willman in 1956 bore two children, Scott and Brent. In 1963, the family moved to Bakersfield, CA where he worked as an accountant and eventually obtained his CPA license.
Ed was the boy’s scout master and little league coach. He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Kiwanis Club. Following the passing of his wife, Helen, in 1976, Ed met and married, Wanda (Pflaster) Willman, his surviving spouse of 35 years. Through this union they were blessed with a daughter, Janie.
Upon retiring, Ed and Wanda settled in Fruita, CO. He enjoyed hiking, snow-shoeing, and volunteering at the Welcome Center, where he earned over 5000 hours of service.
Survivors include his wife Wanda, sons Scott and Brent, daughter Janie, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and three sisters Mildred, Marge, and Marilyn.
Memorial service to be held on Tuesday, September 25, at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2830 “D” Road, Grand Junction, CO at 3:00pm. Immediately following, Ed’s life will be celebrated by a gathering of family and friends at the VFW (Veteran’s of Foreign War) located at 3244 E ¼ St., Clifton, CO.
