Eleanor Jean Saddoris

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens, wit memorial services to follow at 4 p.m. at Calvary Chapel.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Baker-White of Colorado Springs, Jamine Sellers of Fruita, and Sandy Richmond and Andrea Crisler, both of Grand Junction; one sister, Marian Henson of Canon City; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Jean Saddoris

July 8, 1926 - September 3, 2014

Eleanor Jean Saddoris went home to her Father in Heaven on September 3, 2014. She was 88 years young.

Graveside service will be on Friday, September 12, at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel.

Eleanor was born in Paris, Illinois on July 8, 1926, to Harold and Edith Leitch. She married her first love and high school sweetheart, Cleo Baker on March 22, 1944. He passed away in 1967. She then married her beloved husband, Henry Saddoris on July 7, 1973.

Eleanor worked as a secretary at Mesa College in the Audio Visual Department for 20 years. After her retirement she volunteered for R.S.V.P., playing her beloved piano in the nursing homes in the valley for 16 years. She also taught Sunday School at Vineyard Christian Fellowship. She was an Ambassador at Mesa View Retirement Home where she lived for the last two years. Her faithful dedication and joy in serving in these capacities was inspiring.

Eleanor was also a gifted singer, painter and poet. Her works of art and labor of love will live on always in our hearts. She was a loving Mom and Grandma who adored her family.

We will greatly miss her generous, kind, fun-loving spirit and personality. But most of all, we thank you Mama for loving us and for being so in love with Jesus. That is your greatest legacy. We will forever be grateful for you until we meet again.

Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Linda (John) White; Sandra (Joel) Richmond; Jamine (Rex) Sellers, and Andrea (Elton) Crisler; son-in-law, Daniel Olson; step-sons, David (Mabel); Richard; Robert (Holly), and Scott (Teresa); sister, Marion Henson; grandchildren, Mark; Kristen; Brandi; Ryan; Brenan; Joshua; Terra; Shawn; Steven; Adam; Andy; Donovan; Hunter; Jarret; Carter; Angie, and Scott; great-grandchildren, Cougar; Kiah; Emilee; Aimee, and Hayden.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; two brothers, Paul and Robert; one sister, Marceline; granddaughter, Tamara, and step-son, Donnie.
