Mrs. Elsie Lina Weaver Holland

September 24, 1929 – December 2, 2010

Elsie Holland of Grand Junction, CO passed away December 2, 2010 after a short illness. She was 81. Elsie was born September 24, 1929 in Brisol, OK to loving parents, Charles and Vina (Rhyne) Weaver. She attended school in Oklahoma and California. Elsie returned to Colorado in 1994 after her husband, Lee Cooper, of 46 years passed away.

Elsie then married Lester Holland June 12, 2004 in Palisade, CO. She was a member of the New Haven Pentecostal Holiness Church located in Palisade, CO. Elsie loved her Church family and spent a lot of time serving others. She also loved fishing, needle work and sewing. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. Even during her illness she was able to set up her Christmas decorations for this year.

Elsie was a person of few words and a wonderful listener. She would always appear to hold a baby or child. Elsie loved children. Elsie is best described as a generous and kind person.

Elsie is survived by her husband, Lester Holland; son, Glen Cooper; brothers, Bob Weaver of Clifton, CO; Marvin Weaver of Grand Junction, CO; Paul Weaver of Grand Junction, CO; sisters, Doris Hill of Grand Junction, CO; Flora Weaver of Grand Junction, CO, and Faye Beatty of Grand Junction, CO. Elsie is preceded by her parents; son, Charles Weaver Jr.; sisters, Wanda Weaver, and Mary Weaver.

Funeral services will be held at New Haven Pentecostal Holiness Church 426 Kluge Ave., Palisade, CO Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation is 9 - 10:00 a.m. Graveside services are at 1:00 p.m. at the Glade Park Cemetery. Pastor Bob Carry officiating. Martin Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
