Emma Rachel Harms passed away peacefully in the arms of her family on September 24, 2011. She was 84.
Emma was born and raised in Booneville, Arkansas where she met her future husband, Lloyd. He was a Navy man and they traveled together to many ports in the United States and the Philippine Islands. After Lloyd's retirement, they moved to Grand Junction in 1989 and lived the good life surrounded by friends and family.
Emma kept herself busy by participating in several organizations, among them; Ladies Auxiliaries of the Fleet Reserve and VFW. She also helped out at the VA Hospital on a regular basis. Emma was the kindest, most wonderful wife and mother in the world. We love her and will miss her always.
Emma is survived by her son, Harold Harms of Montrose, CO; daughter, Emily Farr of Eagle, ID; her sister, Rosemary Moore of Grand Junction, CO, and brother, Herman Jackson of DeQueen, AR. A Visitation will be held from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary on Tuesday September 27, 2011. A Graveside Service will be the following day, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
