A funeral service will be held at 10am on August 31 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Englewood. She will be buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery alongside her husband, Lloyd, who preceded her in death.
Lucy was born in Rocky Ford and later moved to Buena Vista. After high school graduation she worked for Libby's. Working as a waitress for a second job, she met our dad. They were married six weeks later on November 27, 1947.
They moved to Englewood and lived in the house that dad built in 1950 where they raised their family. After retirement, they decided they were tired of the big city, so moved to Grand Junction in 2006.
In 2008 at the ripe age of 80, mom started volunteering at Heirlooms, a hospice organization. She also enjoyed meeting for lunch and breakfast with her friends. Many thanks to the special neighbors and friends who watched over our mom.
Mom always enjoyed volunteering, sewing, crafts, camping, cooking, golfing. She especially enjoyed entertaining her friends and family.
Survivors include sons, Michael of Peoria, Arizona; Ronald of Englewood; daughter, Janyce Martin of Thornton; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Heirlooms, which is a hospice organization.
