

He was born to Serveriano Fundazuri Larroscain and Tomasa Onaindia in Ziortz-Bolibar, Spain on April 27th, 1944. He was one of 11 children. He boarded a plane bound for the United States and landed in Grand Junction, CO on April 4th, 1968. Like many of the Basques that came to the United States, he went to work in a sheep camp in the Uncompahgre National Forest. He met his wife, Joyce, in 1976 and they married on December 19th, 1981. Together, they had one child: Stephanie Fundazuri. He became a citizen of the United States of America on December 7th, 1989.
He is survived by his sister Maria Feliciana Fundazuri of Markina-Xemein, Spain; Juan Jose Fundazuri of Markina-Xemein, Spain; and nieces and nephews in Spain and in the United States. He is preceded in death by his parents Serveriano Fundazuri Larroscain and Tomasa Onaindia, and his brothers and sisters, Emilio Fundazuri, Julian Fundazuri, Jose Antonio Fundazuri, Felix Fundazuri, Maria Fundazuri, Dominica Fundazuri, Maria del Carmen Fundazuri, and his in-laws Adolfo Manzanares and Oliviama Rose Manzanares.
Flo enjoyed time outside, camping, fishing, hunting, taking walks with his beloved dog Millie, and working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, telling jokes and stories about growing up, watching football, golf, and cycling, as well as reading books and working on his puzzles.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Fruita, CO on December 1st, 2023 at 6pm. A funeral service will be held on December 2nd, 2023 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church. A dinner will be held in his honor on December 2nd, 2023 at 1pm at 1058 23 Road, Grand Junction, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sacred Heart Church.
