Jodi and Jace Roehm
Jodi Lee Safranek Roehm and Jace Lane Safranek Roehm, father and son, passed away on November 20th, 2014.
Jodi was born on October 9th 1987, the last addition to the large family of Karl and Susan Roehm. Jace was born to Jodi and Jessica Roehm November 11th 2010, the first and only child.
Jodi always liked playing and working outdoors. He graduated from R-5 High School in 2006. He met his future wife, Jessica in 2002. After a long friendship which turned into a loving relationship, they were married July 10th, 2010. Jodi was passionate about working in the oil fields as an Operator for Monument Well Service. He moved up quickly in rank despite his young age. A tragic work related accident caused him to be unable to continue to work. Shortly after this, he and Jessica married and the light of their life, Jace, was born. Several people close to Jodi remarked, ""The sparkle returned to Jodi's eyes the day Jace was born"". This small little boy brought such joy to Jodi and all. Jace was never far from Jodi, and it was rare to find Jace sleeping anywhere other than on his Daddy's chest. Jace was also known as ""Papa's Boy"" as he loved to ride around with his Papa Karl. Jace would also get a ride whenever he could with his Uncle Rowley. For Jodi, they were the happy threesome running around town on errands.
Jace found himself a second home with Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Richard. Jace loved to play with his four cousins; Brandt (8), Gabby (6), Annabella (2) and AJ (infant). Jace loved to go to ""Papa's Mountain"" to run wild and free in his boots and underwear whenever they would let him. Jace had the most loving heart. He was impish to the point that when any of his ""Uncles"" came around they would be reduced to little boys playing. Jace loved wholly and with intensity all the people that pasted through his life. Jace loved to help, no matter what the chore. Helping wash dishes everyone ended up wet but happy. Helping pick up nails or screws from the driveway or holding them when they were needed on the project. Jace had a fine grasp of language, he could bring laughter to any given situation. Both Jodi and Jace shared a love of family and home which was centered on Jessica. They both easily shared their world with family and friends.
Jodi and Jace are survived by Jessica Lynn Self Roehm (wife and mother); Karl and Susan Roehm (Jodi's parents); his siblings, Susan, Marni Terrell, Christopher Roehm, Daina Marie, JT Williams, Rowley Smith, Troy and Shannon Roehm, Laura Dawn, Traci and Scott McCallum, Darie and Rachel Roehm; Margaret Roehm (grandmother) and Ellen Safranek (grandmother), and many many nieces and nephews (cousins). Jace is also survived by his God-sister, Averee Jarrae, Trixie Zentmyer (grandmother), Wayne Self (grandfather), Amelia Zentmyer (grandmother), Melvin Self Sr. (grandfather). Both are preceded in death by John Roehm (grandfather), Leland Safranek (grandfather) and Karl Roehm Jr. (brother/uncle), Edward Zentmyer (grandfather).
Services will be held on Monday, December 1st, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Canyon View Vineyard Church in Grand Junction, Colorado. Immediately following, a burial service will be held at the Glade Park Cemetery, on ""Papa's Mountain"".
