James William Childers, 82, of Colorado, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, after a brief illness. He was born to the late Ed and Loline Childers on September 17, 1941. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marguerite Branch.
Jim was an avid fly fisherman with an incredible skill for tying trout flies, as well as artistic fish artwork. In 1963, he met the love of his life and best friend, Linda Greene Childers, and was able to enjoy almost 60 years of marriage with her. He was also an amazing father to his son, Grant.
He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face and a story in his heart.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda Childers; his son, Grant (Debbie) Childers of Colorado; and his many close-knit cousins of North Carolina.
