

Jim was born on September 7, 1927 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma to Floyd and Emma Kent. He was 94 years old.
He is survived by three children, Jayne (David) Euler, Summerfield, Texas, Larry (Sandy) Kent, Guthrie, Oklahoma and Ricky (Aleisha) Kent, Bakersfield, California.
Jim is survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and twelve nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years, Jean, three brothers and two sisters.
Jim was a Korean War veteran and served in the US Navy in Manila, Philippines.
He retired from The Western Company in 1982 and started his second career with Sanborn Souvenir and Alida's Fruits. He retired for the second time in 2016 at the age of 89.
Jim was a member of Monument Baptist Church and when asked how he was doing he would reply, "Happy, healthy and terrific in Christ Jesus and getting better!". He was known for his positive attitude and he spread joy wherever he went.
The family would like to thank the Veterans Administration Hospital, the doctors and nurses at St. Mary's and the staff at Mantey Heights and HopeWest for treating Jim with dignity and respect.
