John was born on August 2, 1932 to Emilio Cesario and Annie Chiodo, in Green River, UT. He spend his childhood and high school years between Grand Junction and Grand Valley. Graduating from Grand Valley High School in 1950, earning an All State basketball scholarship.
He settled in Grand Junction after exiting the Marine Corp. when he married Dorothy Spadafora on February 2, 1957.
John was a Roadmaster for the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad. He served in the United States Marine Corp, earning the Korean Service Medal, U.N. service Medal and the National Defense Medal.
John was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Grand Junction; sons, Rock (Kenda), of Grand Junction, Roger (Teresa), and Rod, both of Crested Butte; daughter, Kristal (Chip) Duval of Denver, CO; and grandchildren, Loryn (Gabe) Guerrero, of Denver, CO, and Matthew (Ashli) Cesario of Grand Junction, CO.
