The Branson clan of Ozark decent, having landed in Colorado, lost beloved high-speed patriarch Joseph George Branson on November 15th, 2021. Joe was born on August 25th, 1947 to Homer and Josephine Branson in Denver, Colorado.
Growing up, he lived in the Denver suburb of Lakewood with his parents, brother Ray, and dog Tucker.
Graduating from Lakewood High School in 1965, he attended Mesa College and was a skilled Tool and Die Maker for CoorsTek. Joe used his advanced skill and knowledge to produce intricate tools for a wide variety of electronics and machinery.
Joe married his High School Sweetheart, Judy (Long). They had four children (The 4 T’s) that survive him Todd (Lissa), Tim (Kristina), Terrie (Todd Woicik), and the little one Troy (Jessy). He adored them along with his brother Ray and wife Chery. Joe gained a little pep in his step when talking about his grandchildren Zach, Ashley, Kadin, Kailey, Kylie, Elisha, Kelcie, Ashley W, Raeley, Andrew, and Adam, as well as great-granddaughters Joie, Paislee, and Analia.
The family would be remiss in not thanking the many friends he made memories with, the Western Colorado BMW Riders. Specifically Monte, Brad, Michelle, Margaret, and Orrin.
Joe’s Celebration of Life will be held on December 4th, 2021 at 11 am at the Grand Valley Event Center, 2400 Consistory Ct Grand Junction CO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in Joe’s name to the Western Colorado Dragway Association P.O. Box 760 Clifton, CO 81520.
