Kimmi Ann Polhamus, 46, passed away unexpectedly in Grand Junction, CO, on April 21, 2015. Kimmi was born August 24, 1968, and grew up in this wonderful valley we live in. She attended Grand Junction High School, Mesa College, and Colorado Christian University.
The majority of her working career was dedicated to the criminal justice system, including positions she held with Mesa County Community Corrections, Mesa County Sheriff’s Department, The 21st Judicial District, Donor Alliance, and as an assistant with a local law firm.
Kimmi had a beautiful smile, a generous heart, and a great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family on holidays, cookouts, and BBQ’s. She adored her granddaughter, Kaylee Ann.
Kimmi’s every step was followed by her very loyal dog, Gotti, and wherever Kimmi went, Gotti was not far behind. She enjoyed spending time outside working in the yard, or in her Zen Garden reading or meditating.
Kimmi is survived by her daughter, Ashley Story; father, Jerry Polhamus; mother and stepfather, Carol and Deryl Eldridge; brother, Adam (Sheila) Polhamus; granddaughter, Kaylee Ann; nieces, Maddie and Mariah Polhamus, all of Grand Junction.
Kimmi was firm on no public services, and the family will honor her wishes. Please join us for a celebration of her life and go to Callahan-Edfast website for some great pictures of Kimmi, along with family members and friends.
