LaFlora Ann (Dye) Crawford was born on October 19, 1942, to Henry Lloyd and Naomi Nell (Miller) Dye in Littlefield, Texas. She was the second of four girls. She lived in Littlefield most of her childhood. On August 18, 1959, she went on a double-blind date with John Crawford (it was his birthday) and her Sister Barbara Sue, and Sue’s date Earl Turvaville. Both couples married the next year, three days apart. John and Ann were married in Ann's childhood home.
John and Ann were married 54 ½ years until his passing in 2014. John and Ann had three children: Theresa Gail, John Kevin, and Kimberly Dawn. Their lives were spent in Texas, Arizona, and Colorado.
Ann was a stay-at-home mom, an Avon lady, seamstress, a delivery driver for The Nickel paper, and an in-home caregiver for several friends as well as her husband. Ann’s greatest joy was being a Granny and a Gigi. Ann had eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Ann loved cooking, sewing, quilting, and crocheting.
Ann was faithful in Church and was a shining example to her children, grandchildren, and those around her.
When Ann started showing signs of Alzheimer’s Disease, she was often confused, lost, and forgetful, but she never forgot who Jesus was, and always enjoyed it when her caregivers would play spiritual music. We give thanks to God almighty that she has been that her life continues and is no longer confused and is now at her Savior’s side and is reunited with her beloved husband, parents, sisters, and friends that have gone before.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Lloyd and Naomi, two sisters, Sue and Johnnie, and great grandchild Mabel. She is survived by her sister, Leveta Dillon, children: Theresa (Gene) Bushey, Kevin (Dawn) Crawford, and Kim (Dean) Nelson. Grandchildren: Brittany, Jason, Jonathon, Sierra, Alainie, Carly, Estella, and Amanda. Great grandchildren: Brody, Bronson, Brogan, Brielle, Ryder, Paden, Willow, Ethan, Ava, Calvin, Tatum, Raven, Leah, and Dresden.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Barbara and the staff at the Lodge of Grand Junction for the excellent care and love that they gave to Ann for the last two years. We also extend our thanks to Hope West for all the loving care, respect and dignity given to Ann in her final days.
