Lee Allen Pease was born in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Ralph and Gatha (Braun) Pease. He spent the first five years of his life in Grand Island and then his family relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1961. He attended elementary school and Jr. high at Orchard Mesa. Boundaries were changed and he went to Fruita High School for 8th and 9th grade. Lee was an altar boy and sang in the choir with the Lutheran church. Then he went to Grand Junction High School. He was a great wrestler. He graduated in the class of 1974. In 1976, he enlisted with the US Army. He became a Telecommunication Specialist and was stationed in Korea for a year and always wanted to go back. Lee later did a short stay, of 80 days, in Germany. He always wanted to take his wife to Heidelberg, the City of Love. He was honorably discharged after his tour of duty. Returning to Grand Junction, he was a forklift operator for 10 years for the City Market warehouse, loading semis before Kroger took over. Lee then moved to Lakewood, Colorado, to start his own Exterior Trimming Construction Company for over 20 years. He serviced most of the homes in Highland Ranch and Lone Tree. He then met Cozette "Cozy" McCarty on May 4, 1996, in Grand Junction. Lee was very persistent, and it took him 9 years to convince her to marry him. Later, Cozy and Lee moved back to Lakewood and remained until October 1, 2001, and then moving back to Grand Junction to be closer to family.
He is survived by his wife, Cozette "Cozy" McCarty-Pease; his mother Gatha Pease; sister, Leslie Shaw; brothers, Steven "Doc" Pease, Kim Pease along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Pease; daughter, Stephanie Pease Taylor and brother-in-law, Robert Shaw.
