December 26, 1927 - July 24, 2014
Lorraine May O'Nan passed away July 24, at 4:00 a.m. in her sleep.
She was born Lorraine May Billings in Appleton, Colorado.
She worked at Mesa Drug on Third and Main. While rollerskating one night at The Grand Junction Roller Rink on First and Gunnison, she met Floyd O'Nan. He was at home on leave from the Navy. Three weeks later, on Lorraine's 18th birthday, December 26, they were married.
Lorraine decorated cakes part time, drove a school bus and worked at the Atomic Energy Plant. Eventually she and Floyd managed the Sandman Motel on Horizon Drive for over 13 years. Lorraine loved volunteering her time at the Clifton Christian Church for the clothing and food drive. Her loving son, Jace, moved back in with his parents for the last three years, as her health was declining.
She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 67 years, Floyd; son, Jace O'Nan; her brother, Richard (Sue) Billings. Sue was a godsend towards the end.
For those who knew Lorraine, her warm and loving smile and calm yet quiet presence will be sorely missed.
