Lula Morris

May 27, 1930 – October 24, 2012

Lula Morris passed away October 24, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, she was 82.

Lula was born on May 27, 1930 in Oakland, California from the union of Charles and Frances Marino. She spent her childhood in the Oakland area and graduated from Castlemont High School in San Leandro. Lula later moved to Wheatridge, CO and then to Lakewood where she would work as a supervisor for K-mart for twenty-three years and for a time as a child care provider. In March of 2012 she moved to Grand Junction, CO to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.

Lula was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed spending special time with her grandchildren, entertaining company and taking time to go out for dinner. In her last few months, Lula enjoyed working with her daughter Georgia and son-in-law Phil at A Taste of Heaven Catering.

Lula leaves behind her daughters; Georgia (Phil) Lujan of Fruita, CO, Cherri Morris of Rockville, MD, a son; Charles Marino of Oakland, CA, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Peter and John Marino.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 29, 2012 at Martin Mortuary. A visitation time will be held from 9:30am until service time. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita, CO.
