

Lyman Francis Treadway went to his heavenly home on September 2, 2018. He was born November 14, 1937, to Thurman and Ima (Spangler) Treadway in Pontiac, Michigan. He graduated from Pontiac High School in 1956. Lyman’s family honored the Lord with their musical talents, and Lyman continued to sing church solos as an adult.
Lyman married Nita McGuire on October 10, 1959. They were blessed with three children: Lenita Marie, Lael Scott, and Galen Shawn. In 1964 they moved from Michigan to Leadville, Colorado, and Lyman worked for the Public Service Company repairing appliances and HVAC systems. Later he and Nita bought the Mt. Royal Motel in Frisco, Colorado, and moved their family to Frisco. Also, at this time he and his family helped start a church in Silverthorne, Colorado. Lyman later relocated the family to Kalispell, Montana, and then to Grand Junction, Colorado. He continued in the appliance and HVAC business, and he also taught HVAC at a local trade school. He then worked at the Clarion Hotel in maintenance until his retirement. He loved fishing, photography, and participating in music jam sessions.
On July 20, 1985, he married Chella Marie (Young) Adams, and they shared a beautiful 32 years together. They attended Heritage Church together and were thankful for the fellowship they shared with others there.
He is survived by his wife, Chella; children, Lenita Treadway-Cox (Tom), and Lael Treadway (Gloria); step-son, Kevin Adams (Rose-Ellen deceased); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Bledsoe (Robert deceased), and Delpha J. Bressuer (Bob). He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Glen (JoAnn survives); son, Galen; and his former wife, Nita.
Visitation will take place Friday, September 14, 2018, from 5-7 PM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Grand Junction, CO. Service will be on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 11 AM at the mortuary. Graveside service will be at 3 PM, New Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita, CO. II Timothy 4:7
