

Margaret Ann Williams (Maggie), age 72, of Palisade, CO passed away Friday, February 4th. She was a graduate of Palisade High School in 1968. In her highschool years, Maggie was a cheerleader, voted most loyal, served on the student council, and was class secretary. Maggie went on to marry her high school sweetheart and became the mother of two sons Matt and Kurt Bailey. Later divorced- Maggie went on to marry Travis Williams in 1999 and the two resided in Fruita, CO. She was an active member of Canyon View Vineyard Church. Maggie was a woman with strong faith and she was a faithful servant to God. Maggie worked at Taylor Elementary School for over 25 years- where she loved working with kids. She served special needs children, and loved to teach art and do art projects.
Maggie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and community member who loved deeply and unconditionally. She was a gentle and kind woman. Never one to harbor anger and was an outstanding example of practicing patients. Maggie was someone who was always there to listen and had more love to give than one knew what to do with. The best way to describe Maggie is “soft”. She was soft in the most beautiful and harmonious of ways. Maggie was a woman with grace and was graceful in all aspects of her life. She enjoyed spending time with many of her lifelong friends, playing cards, going to bible study, and spending time with her grandchildren. Maggie is well known for her various collections including M&M candy figurines, lighthouses, and otters.
Preceded in death by her parents James E. Somerville and Mabele F. Somerville, and two brothers, Melton Somerville and Jimmy Somerville. She is survived by her brother Tommy Somerville- whom she loved dearly; her husband of 23 years, Travis Williams; sons Matt and Kurt Bailey; a total of 7 grandchildren Vanessa, Trevor, Tyler, Mason, Aubrey, Braylon, and Wyatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19th at 10:00 am at Canyon View Vineyard Church (in the chapel) at 736 24 1/2 Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81505. Refreshments and lunch will be held after.
