

Mark E. Wood passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on the evening of June 2nd. He was 82 years old. He retired after 38 years of service to the Denver & Rio Grand Western Railroad. He had gone from clerk at the Rifle Depot, telegraph operator throughout Colorado, and chief dispatcher in Salt Lake City,
Grand Junction and Denver.
His favorite activities were anything that included family and fun. He was known for his consistently generous spirit that was extended to and beyond family. He loved fixing cars, supporting missionaries, listening to hurts and joys, loving hurting children through his church bus ministry, and sharing humor and laughter with others. These are a few examples of how his generosity touched the world.
He will be missed.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and his son, Gale. He is survived by his wife, Joy; daughters, Lucretia, Becky, and Terri; nine grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11:00 a.m. June 8 at Victory Life Church, Fruita CO. Graveside services June 8 at 3:00 p.m. at Olathe Cemetery.
