Mary Diane Montagriff

Services will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday at the Grand Shelter at Canyon View Park.

Mrs. Montagriff worked at Herberger’s.

She is survived by her husband Hugh; one son, Brian of Grand Junction; one daughter, Kendall Montagriff of Grand Junction; one brother, Dave Wood of Wausau, Wisconsin; one sister, Kristine Fitch of Phillips, Wisconsin; and two grandchildren.

Mary Montagriff

January 22, 1942 - May 17, 2014

Mary, age 72, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on May 17, 2014.

Mary was born in East Troy, WI on January 22, 1942, to LaMar and Mary (nee. Maier) Wood. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1969, where she met and married Hugh Montagriff in 1971. They moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in April of 1982, where she began working for the Village Fox. This where she met so many amazing people who quickly became dear friends. When the Village Fox closed in 1991, she went to work for Herberger's and has been there for the past 23 years. Mary had the most beautiful green eyes, a smile that lit up a room and a contagious laugh you could never forget.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Hugh Montagriff; siblings, David L. (Mary) Wood of Wausau, WI; Kristine (Mike) Fitch of Phillips,WI; Kathy Wood, and their families.

She is further survived by her children and grandchildren, Kendall (Brandon); Maddie and Braden; Brian (Heather) Rylan and Nea.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Sandra and Norman.

Mary will have a Celebration of Life on Friday, May 23 at Canyon View Park at Noon.
