J. W. Paul Burnett Sr., Palisade, passed away October 1, 2012 at Palisade Living Center, he was 92.
Paul was born on April 9, 1920 in Adamson County, Oklahoma from the union of J.W. and Ann Kate Burnett. He grew up and attended school in Oklahoma and lived in various places in Colorado, including the Grand Junction area where he lived for fifty-six years.
He married Helen Margaret Harris on January 20, 1940, in Vernal, UT. She preceded him in death on August 20, 1999 in Grand Junction.
Paul was a minister, painter and miner throughout his life. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Full Gospel Men’s Fellowship. He enjoyed music, singing and playing guitar, other interests included archeology and reading.
Paul never knew a stranger; he loved people for Jesus and led many people to the Lord.

Paul Burnett Jr. of Clifton, CO, David Leon Burnett of Honolulu, HI, John Elijah (Michelle) Burnett of Poulsbo, WA, Nathanial Curtis (Mindy) Burnett of Bremerton, WA, Daniel Dean Burnett of Grand Junction, CO, nine daughters; Patricia Ann Burnett of San Jacinto, CA, Pauletta Jean (Glen) Shepherd of Grand Junction, CO, Joan Rebecca (Lee) Riddle of Collbran, CO, Gloria Rachel (Richard) Sirokman of Montrose, CO, Lynda Kate Williams of Montrose, CO, Loretta Ruth (Bob) Wieman of Bremerton, WA, Helen Marie (Phillip) Taylor of Richland, WA, Mary Lois (Elwin) Schwartz of Garden City, KS, Brenda Esther (Ray) Woo – Mililani, HI, 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2012 at Martin Mortuary, burial will follow services at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation time will be held from 11:00 AM until service time.
