Richard (Dick) Ray Cloud, 77, of Collbran, went to be with Jesus on October 29, 2021 at Hope West Hospice in Grand Junction. He was born to Jack and Margaret Cloud in Telluride on August 15, 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Glen and John and sister, Bonnie. He is survived by Julie, his wife of 47 years, sons Rich (Ann) and Bryan, and three grandchildren Ashley, Kati and Connor.
Dick attended high school in Norwood, CO, where he as a star football player and Mesa College in Grand Junction, CO. He worked as an Engineer for the Rio Grande Railroad, later becoming a successful entrepreneur, operating several ventures including Clouds Trailer Park, Rock & Gem Show, Construction, Propane and “Honey Wagon” businesses in Quartzsite, AZ.
Dick had the gift of gab with laughter, joy and a love glowing through his larger-than-life personality. His sense of humor made everyone around laugh, including his grandchildren with stories passing many hours.
Dick was a strong Christian man fighting his battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma) but now joining his family in heaven. We will miss him, but we know he is in a much better place.
The family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life for Dick at the graveside service held at Cedar Crest Cemetery, in Collbran, on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 1:30pm. Afterwards, light refreshments will be available at the Collbran Congregational Church in Collbran to reminisce Dick’s incredible life and the footprint he has left on our hearts.
