

Rick was born December 21, 1952 to Richard and Joan Griffith, on his father’s birthday. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force where he fell in love with airplanes, which led him to a career at FedEx, where he was an airplane mechanic for 34 years. Because of his love for the mountains, he lived and worked in Colorado for the last 31 years.
Rick had a passion for our country’s military, he was involved in the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, Wounded Warriors, POW’s and MIA’s.
Rick had a love for all God’s creatures, owning numerous types of pets over the years.
Rick had a strong faith in God that he drew strength and comfort from during the last several months of his illness.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Allea); step-daughters Heather (Sam) Caldwell and Chris Baca Jones; mother Joan (Dick) McClean; sisters Carrie Thornton and Julie (Pete) Miller; a special sister-in-law, Nancy Miller; 3 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Richard and wife Susie.
A visitation for Richard will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 5 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 am.
