

Roger was born on December 27, 1958, in Covington, Kentucky, to Lawrence and Myrtle (Varnell) Stolte. He spent his childhood in Grand Junction and attended R-5 High School. In 1977, he enlisted in the US Army and served as a Track Vehicle Mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1981. He married Charlene Houston on September 9, 2006 in Grand Junction. They moved to Gretna, Nebraska, where Roger lived for 10 years before returning to Grand Junction. Roger worked as a steamfitter and plumber and was a member of the Lutheran Church of Messiah. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, golf, fishing, and camping. Roger was friends with everybody- always laughing and in a good mood. He was loved by all, and he will be greatly missed.
Roger is survived by his wife, Charlene Stolte of Gretna, Nebraska; brother, Brad Stolte of Grand Junction; sisters, Barbara Stolte of Grand Junction, and Jo Anne Allen-Slee of Whitewater, Colorado; and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence M. and Myrtle Stolte; and his brother, Jimmy Stolte.
