Oh my goodness I just seen this and I'm so sorry for your loss Brigette and your Mom I remember when I meant Russ him and Lisa were dating he was a very awesome guy i wish I could of seen him sooner he sure is going to be missed his family will be in my prayers 🙏

Russ was a dear friend of our family for so many years. I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was one of the kindest men I knew and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He will be so missed. My deepest condolences to his family who he cherished.

I met Russ on the first day of a new job. We became friends from the get go. Through the years he became a permanent fixture in my life. Seeing me from being a single excitable young man to getting married and having children, (one of which he is godfather to) to watching each other retire, and I was lucky enough to have him settle in the same town that I did.
We went on countless fishing and hunting trips together and I swear I remember every one of them.
I loved the way he criticized my jokes while cocking his head and saying "oh Dreu" and floating down whatever river we had time to. Me rowing and watching him learn to fly fish, knowing it wasn't about just catching fish, but more so about enjoying each other's company . Loosing you hurts more than I ever thought it could
I will miss you Russ. R.I.P. 


I worked with Russ at BHP for 20 years until he retired. He was one of the nicest people, had a great sense of humor and was just a great person. I will remember him with his little chuckle when we would chat in the morning meeting. My condolences to all of his family. 

To the Lewis Family ~ memory of Russell
We have known you since 1968 when my brother Jim became best friends with Russell at Crawford Elementary... the Yorkey and Lewis family members were forever in trouble!  :)  Attending school together (Crawford, West & Central)  Being a part of the Jeep Gang!  4 Wheeling at the Rocks!  Their friendship has lasted 55 years with many visits throughout the years once Jim moved to WV.  Russ was always very nice to the "younger sister" of his BF... even when they locked me out of the house, I had to break a window to get their attention... I was mad!  Russ helped me pull the glass out of my hand. 
Russ was very caring when our dad passed in 2019 and shared his memories of him and our family over the years.  We will truly miss this gentle soul. Rest in Peace Russell!  Carol Yorkey Van Gytenbeek
