Shirley Elaine Wells Budai, 87, naturally passed away on January 5, 2024, in her home. Born 4/16/1936 to Harvie and Dorthy Wells, St. Louis, Missouri. Shirley graduated from high school in Colorado Springs, CO. Graduate of the School of Nursing at St. Louis City Hospital before enlisting in the Army November 1957, becoming a 2nd Lieutenant. Married Veteran Raymond Chorney (deceased) 12/28/1957 and had one daughter, Carla Rae Chorney Pitton. She later married Joseph Budai (deceased) May 1974. Grandma Shirley moved to Grand Junction August 1995. Shirley is survived by her brother James Wells and (Emma), Carla (Paul Pitton), grandsons, John Pitton (Stephanie), David Pitton (Shannon), Stephen Pitton (Shannon) and Matthew Pitton (Mecia) and seven wonderful great grandchildren. Shirley’s full life nursing, being a proud grandma had room for hobbies of quilting (Thursday Quilters), Knitting, Cross Stitch, reading and creating beautiful stained-glass art. There will be a private family celebration of Life.
