Susan Scott Shields

May 31, 1948 – September 4, 2020

Died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, September 4, 2020.

Susan Scott (Chapman) Shields was born on May 31, 1948, in New York, NY to Denman Scott Chapman and Betty Aletta (Schuette) Chapman. She graduated in 1969 from Barstow High School, Barstow, California.

Susan was born into a military family. This provided her with the opportunity to experience cultures from around the world. Both Denman & Betty Chapman were enlisted in the U.S. Army. This took Susan from Japan, Germany, and all over the United States.

Susan was very close to her mother Betty. They were both Auxiliary members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1247, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 595, and the American Legion. They both held up the family traditions through their love of bowling. Susan’s Great Grand Father, Herman Rolof, Build an 8-lane bowling alley in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Susan was a semi-pro bowler along side her mother, Betty Chapman, in many tournaments through the United States.

Susan will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Including her children Laura (Jennifer) Shields, Jacque Shields. Her brothers and sisters. John (Mary) Chapman, Joanne (Richard) Braucht, Robin (Scott) Harmilton, James Chapman, and Barbra Daitch. 6 nieces and nephews and 1 great nephew.
