Sue grew up in southern California with her 5 older brothers and 2 younger sisters, living in various places. She loved the beach and anything involving her friends. She spent many days being chased and tormented by her older brothers, which made her the tough and strong-willed person we all knew and loved.
She graduated high school in 1980, and several years later met the love of her life, Ron. They had many adventures on their motorcycles together, until they welcomed their 1st daughter, Shantel, in 1987. They were then on to their next adventure, and packed up and moved to Redvale, CO. Sue spent several years working in Telluride, and enjoyed her time in the beautiful mountains. In 1991 their 2nd daughter, Melanie, was born. Soon after, they made their forever home in Naturita, CO. They spent their days fishing, camping, hosting large get togethers in the infamous garage and raising their precious girls.
Sue then was a stay-at-home Mom and selflessly devoted her time to her daughter, Mel, with special needs. She did all this while still supporting her older daughter through all her sporting events and ensuring she still had a “normal” childhood. Sue was blessed with her one and only grandchild, Madison Marie, in 2004. Maddi was the light of her life, she loved her to the moon and back. In 2007, the girls lost Ron after a long battle with leukemia. Sue was then the rock of the family and made sure she kept all 3 of her girls close to her. They spent every holiday together and had many trips to Naturita and Grand Junction to be with one another. Sue adored all her family, which included her friends whom she loved as sisters. She was the most caring and loving person you’ll ever meet. And strong, she was the epitome of strong.
