A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and friend. Though our hearts are heavy, we are also filled with gratitude for the 31 years we were blessed to share with her.
Torey was born on January 10, 1995, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to her loving parents, Laura and Brian Ramsey. From the very beginning, she carried a light that could not be ignored. She had a kindness that ran deep. The kind of kindness that didn’t ask for recognition, that simply showed up when you needed it most. Torey was the person you wanted by your side. She was loyal, protective, and fiercely loving. If she was on your team, you knew you were going to be okay. And if you ever found yourself on her bad side, well you probably deserved it.
She loved with her whole heart. As a daughter, she was a source of pride and comfort. As a sister to Taylor Talbott, Tricia Ramsey, and Trina Ramsey, she was not just family but a best friend. Someone who laughed loudly, stood firmly, and defended fiercely. As an aunt to her nephew Brian Ramsey, she was pure joy. The kind of aunt who showed up, cheered the loudest, and loved the hardest.
At 21 years old, Torey received a diagnosis that would change her life. Huntington’s Disease. For ten long years, she faced that battle with a courage that humbled everyone who witnessed it. She did not let her diagnosis define her spirit. Even on the hardest days, she showed strength. Even in pain, she showed grace. Her fight was not just about surviving. It was about loving, about being present, about continuing to be Torey.
On February 28, 2026, Torey went home to heaven. While we grieve deeply, we also hold onto the comfort that she is reunited with those who went before her, her father, Brian Ramsey; Uncle Donald Ramsey; Grandpa John Trent; and Granny Helen Ramsey. What a beautiful reunion that must have been.
She leaves behind her mother, Laura Ramsey, who loved her beyond measure; her sisters; her nephew; her grandfather, Eugene Ramsey; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives are forever changed because of her.
Torey’s life reminds us that strength is not the absence of struggle, it is the choice to keep loving in the middle of it. She taught us that loyalty matters, that family matters, that showing up matters. She taught us to stand up for the people we love and to never underestimate the power of a kind heart paired with a strong backbone.
Though we wish we had more time, we will carry her with us in our laughter, in our protectiveness of one another, in the way we show up for our teams, and in the way we love without hesitation.
Torey’s fight is over. Her pain is gone. Her spirit is free.
And while heaven gained an angel, we gained a forever guardian in our hearts.
We love you, Torey. We will miss you every single day. And we will carry your light with us. Always.
