Vivian LaVerne (Pennington) WilliamsMarch 26, 1917 - January 2, 2016Vivian Williams, 98, was called to her heavenly home on January 2, 2016.Vivian "Penny" was born in Longmont, CO on March 26, 1917, the sixth child of Arthur and Julia Annie (Schooley) Pennington.Vivian was a selfless woman, always finding ways to bring cheer and comfort to others. She loved her husband and family first and foremost, cheering on her children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She cared for neighbors and church friends like family, never forgetting to honor an occasion with one of her beautiful cakes. Vivian was an active member of the Grand Junction Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years. Her passion was missions. She collected medical supplies, and stitched quilts for people in need in the Navajo Nation, Africa, and around the world. Penny was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Charles David Williams; her parents; siblings, and son-in-law, William Sands.She is survived by her children, Sarah and Skip (Ruth); three grandchildren, Jared, Tyler, and Crystal, and two great-grandchildren, Jayden, and Hailey.Funeral services will be at Martin Mortuary on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. -
