Wayne R. Neely, 81, of Fruita, Colorado passed away on July 18, 2023. He grew up in Chicago. After graduation from Harrison High School, he worked as a lithographer. He was married for 62 years to his wife, Charlene, and had two children.
His family moved to Colorado where he joined the Colorado State Patrol. He was stationed in Gunnison and Grand Junction. He enjoyed restoring antique cars on his days off.
After working 25 years, he retired from CSP and they moved to Florida where he fulfilled his dream of owning a sailboat. After 11 years, they returned to Colorado and resided in Fruita.
He is survived by his wife (Charlene), son (Jim Neely), and daughter (Susan Jamsay). Wayne had five grandchildren: Michael Manley, Benjamin Manley, Ashley Martin, Hannah Neely, and Dalton Neely and 10 great grandchildren, one great, great grandson.
