Willard Jackson Morris

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; one son, Kirby Morris of Rochelle, Texas; three daughters, Sheila Kay Jordan of Millersview, Texas, Michelle Christine Morris of Fruita, and Kassandra Puhler of Fruita; three brothers, Jesse Lynn Morris and Gaylen Dewayne Morris, both of Brady, Texas, and James Everrett Morris of Levering, Michigan; two sisters, Viola Pearl Harris of Elysian Fields, Texas, and Willie Wenona Sparks of Mineola, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Willard Jackson Morris passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on January 25, 2016. He was 68.

Willard was born to Willard Washington Morris and Mary Evelyn McBee in Gustine, TX on November 17, 1947. Mr. Morris was a self-employed welder. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Kay Morris of DeBeque, CO; son, Kirby Morris of Rochelle, TX; daughters, Sheila Kay (Ron) Jordan of Millersview, TX, Michelle Christine (Adam) Morris of Fruita, CO, and Kassandra Puhler of Fruita, CO; brothers, Jesse Lynn (Jo) Morris of Brady, TX, Gaylen Dewayne (Debra) Morris of Brady, TX, James Everrett (Carol) Morris of Levering, MI; Sisters, Viola Pearl (James) Harris of Elysian Fields, TX, and Willie Wenona (Nathan) Sparks of Mineola, TX. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Katucha Juanita, Nathan Travis, Darla Sherlene, Robert Daniel, and Henry Andrew.

Cremation has taken place at Callahan Edfast Crematory in Grand Junction, CO. Memorial services will be Saturday, January 30, at 2:00 p.m. at the DeBeque High School.
