Born on June 30, 1948, Leigh was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Campbell (Bear) and the eldest of five children. Raised in Denver, Colorado, she graduated from Bear Creek High School. In 1968, Leigh married her first husband Michael Kelley, and together they raised two children, Mark and Holly in Denver and Colorado Springs, CO. After divorcing and starting a new chapter in her life, Leigh relocated to Grand Junction CO, in 1992 and is where she met Steve Perschon. They married on May 4th, 1996.
Leigh was a vibrant soul known for her warm smile and compassionate nature. She dedicated over 30 years to her career as a hair stylist, owning and operating Atrium Beauty Salon from 1996 to 2018. Retirement allowed her to delve into her passions, including canning, sewing, and quilting. She lovingly created quilts for her family and found joy in camping and fishing at Blue Mesa Reservoir with her husband Steve. She was also known for making an amazing potato salad everyone enjoyed and it remained a recipe no one could quite replicate.
One of Leigh's most important goals after the cancer diagnosis was to attend her granddaughter Katie's wedding on July 20, 2024. Her indomitable spirit allowed her to defy the odds and witness the cherished moment of Katie walking down the aisle. A testament to her unwavering love for her family.
Leigh is survived by her children, Mark Kelley (Jill) and Holly Stalnaker (Todd); sisters, Lynn, Lesley, and Charlene; brother, Mike; nieces, Nichole and Justine; stepchildren, Natalie, Bryan, and Megan; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Lucy. Leigh is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy; stepmother, Charlotte; infant brother, Bruce; former husband, Michael; and niece, Kelsey.
In accordance with Leigh's wishes, a celebration of her life will be planned by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Leigh's honor to Hope-West, Grand Junction, CO.
Leigh will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of resilience, kindness, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
