Andrew Ballas, 90, a longtime resident of Grand Prairie, was born Oct 6, 1923 birthplace Manhattan, N.Y. A great husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He is a retired veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II & in the Korean War. Retired from the U.S. Navy in 1971 and Bank of America in 1985. Served on several Greek Orthodox parishes councils and was recognized a Lifetime AHEPA of 61 years Dallas chapter 20. Andy Ballas was a baseball fanatic –involved in Little League Baseball, Senior softball and bowling teams. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Pat Ballas, a son Chris A Ballas and wife Cindy, a daughter Elaine F. Doughty – Three grandchildren Athena, Nicholas and Zachary – Two great-grandchildren Lucas and Makenzie – numerous nephews & nieces. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Johns the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church at 303 Cullum Dr. Euless, Texas 76040-4625. Wake service Wed, 6:00-8:00pm and Trisagion prayer service at 7:30pm at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home. Funeral service Thurs, 11:30am at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. Interment to follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
