In 1965 Billy enlisted in the U.S. Army and served four years. He was selected to be a part of a special military organization, the Army Security Agency. He was very proud of serving his country; he kept his uniform just in case they ever needed to call on him again, and always carried his DD214 in his wallet.
After serving proudly Billy joined the working world, being detail oriented and incredibly intelligent he got a job in the high technology industry at Texas Instruments. Billy was a very hard worker, he had a no-nonsense attitude. On April 20, 1974 he married the love of his life, Dianna J. St. Clair. Together they had 5 sons.
Away from work he never missed Mass. He was a devoted believer of our Lord Jesus Christ. His faith was very important, he constantly told his sons to hold fast to your beliefs and morals. In his eyes God came first, then family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand children. Very to the point or transparent, he was a loving man; no matter what the deed he loved the person. It’s his love that helped make him a good conversationalist.
Billy was also a very good humored man, cracking jokes in the hospital. He had a good sense of humor, was honest and fair. A true blue collar man, he loved to fish, do wood work and shoot guns. When he was inside you could find him watching either the history channel (a true history buff) or EWTN the Catholic channel.
Billy Senkel was a great father, husband and brother.
He leaves behind his wife Dianna Senkel; sons Patrick Senkel, Christopher Senkel and wife Blythe, Gregory Senkel and wife Rebecca, Thomas Senkel and wife Shauna, John Senkel and wife Brandi; 13 grandchildren; and sisters Dorothy Provost and husband Pete, Barbara Curtin and husband Jim.
