Carolyn Ruth Parks Gentry was born on August 29, 1939 to Richard and Stella Mae Parks. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. She gained her eternal wings on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the age of 84. She married the love of her life, George Gentry, on February 16, 1957.
Carolyn was a homemaker and stay at home mom to her 5 children most of her lifetime. She did hold a few part-time jobs as the children grew up, but her main focus was on her family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents - Richard and Stella Parks, 2 brothers - Gene and Bobby Parks, a grandson Austin Gentry, and most recently her eldest daughter Karla Kay McCombs.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 67 years - George Gentry of Grand Prairie, TX. 4 children and their families. Preston Dwayne Gentry and Debbie Brown of Streetman, TX, Terry and Melinda Gentry of Grand Prairie, TX, Jerry Gentry of Grand Prairie, TX, Angela Gentry of Ennis, TX, Ken and Paula Evenson of Grapevine, TX. Carolyn had 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and another great grandson on the way. She is also survived by her only sister Sandy and husband Bennie Anderson of Grand Prairie, TX, and also a host of nieces and nephews and friends of the family.
Carolyn lived in Grand Prairie most of her life. She was a graduate of Grand Prairie High School. She raised her family in the Pentecostal Christian faith and was a devout Christian woman. She cared for her extended family as if they were her own.
