

Caridad "Carrie" Parreno Pacot was born on September 26, 1930 in La Libertad, Negros Oriental, Philippines to David Parreno and Crestita Liboon. She was the fourth-born of eleven siblings. She passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2022 in Dallas, Texas at 91 years old.
Carrie attended Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines with a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics. During her time at the university, she met her husband Cosme Pacot, a minister of the gospel. The two were married on March 18, 1954. As a born-again Christian, she served alongside her husband at the United Church of Christ in Surigao City for many years. She embraced her role as a minister's wife, welcoming traveling church mission workers into her home and serving them her delicious homemade food. Additionally, she was a leader in the women's ministry, imparting her expertise on married life and homemaking.
After graduating from the university, Carrie worked as an elementary school teacher at Surigao Pilot School in Surigao, Philippines for many years. She was described as patient and understanding; well-loved by former students and colleagues. As a proficient baker she was able to turn an enjoyable hobby into a business through creating and selling beautifully decorated cakes. She specialized in multi-tiered wedding cakes with elaborate embellishments of stairs, fountains, intricate gum paste flowers. She joyfully accepted orders and created countless wedding and birthday cakes for all of her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Other hobbies she enjoyed included oil painting of beautiful landscapes and playing classic hymns on the piano.
She is survived by her son Carlo Pacot and wife Olga, daughter Cerlina Quijano and husband Bobby, daughter Cynthia Olegario, and son-in-law Masud Anwar; grandkids Bryan Quijano and wife Danielle, Christina O'Meilia and husband Jay, Andrew Quijano and wife Tina, Lauren Olegario, Robby Olegario, Amalia Anwar, Sabina Anwar, Alyssa Anwar and Carla Pacot; great-grandchildren Jake Adams-Vigneaux, Zachary Quijano, Case O'Meilia, and Hadley O'Meilia.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cosme Pacot, youngest daughter, Chona Anwar, and son-in-law, Robert Olegario.
