On September 30, 2021, Charles S. Wooten, Jr. entered the gates of Heaven and into the arms of Jesus. Charlie wanted to celebrate his 75th birthday September 28. God answered his prayer and Charlie enjoyed a glorious birthday. Charlie was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a loyal University of Texas Ex. His sense of humor, dedication to family and friends plus his business acumen made him an unforgettable man. Cooking for his family and friends, especially the "paint" for the grandkids' grilled chicken brought him the greatest joy. Those who knew him understood they had encountered a special person.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Charles S. Wooten, Sr. and Lucile Ford Wooten. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Nancy Glenn Wooten of Grand Prairie; daughters and son-in-laws Courtney Wooten Lynn and Joshua Lynn of Abilene and Casee Wooten Fetzer and Jeff Fetzer of Kingwood; brother and sister-in-law Craig S. Wooten and Gayle Wooten of Bellaire; grandchildren Charlotte, Caroline, and Jeffrey Fetzer and Joseph, Catherine, and Thomas Lynn; close friend Chuck Ayers and wife Nikki of Richmond; his niece and nephew Stephanie Wooten Griffin and Frank Griffin and Chase Wooten and Amber Wooten. Other family members are left to remember and mourn his passing.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie. The family will receive friends at church for visitation from 10:00am until the time of service. Graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Reliance Church Cemetery in Bryan, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles' honor to Faith Presbyterian Hospice at T. Boone Pickens Center.
