Always think about you, miss you so much. You’re still thought of to this day. And to his family I hope you guys are doing okay and are always in my prayers. Time doesn’t make it any easier but I know he’s living through us.

When I was a little kid, I always remembered and thought of Chris as one of my older brothers coolest friends, he showed my brother some cool music that I liked, I'll never forget him and the artists he indirectly showed me, or the times I hanged out with him and his lil siblings

My son Andrew Mitchell and Chris were really good friends.  They had a sleep over the a couple day before Chris passed. You're really on my mind a lot today and I know its been almost 6 years now.. wow. I really miss you but I know your flying high my love. There's so much I want to tell you but don't worry we will meet again. I miss seeing your goofy self in the 5th grade and seeing that sweet dimple when your face lit up with a smile.  i was bestfriends with his older sister i was at there house kind of alot so i know all the kids . i rember chris always making me laugh i remember us play fighting & when we really argued its hard now because there all just memories my little broter knew chris idk what i would do if he passed away.. just stay strong & rember hes in a better place looking down on us

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Mata,

I was in Chris's class from first through third grade and I always saw him as the kid who played around a lot, but he was really nice and sweet to me. I'm sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers.

As a friend 2 chris i would always see him wearing sweats and I asked him why are  you always wearing sweats. His sister would say I told him 2 get out his school clothes but he just didnt want 2 listin and now he is wearing those. Another time I at lunch and he was with tha step 4 teacher and I asked him why r u always in step 4 and he said I dont know man I just do what I do. He will be missed in our hearts

 I dont think you remeber me but a few weeks before all this happen i came over wet cause me,Chris,Maryanne,Patrique, and William was all wet cause we was all playing in the rain. As your teacher you always lightened the classroom.  I don't know of one student or teacher who did not enjoy being around you.  I admitt I am good at catching students misbehaving, but you sir gave me the hardest time of anyone, because I could hardly ever catch you in the act. :-) .  You were always respectful and never talked back.  I remember telling you over and over (at the beginning of school) the first 3 things you do when you enter my classroom and after a few days of me hassling you, you did it every day thereafter, and you did it quietly, even if you had to walk over to the board and stand right beside me.  The classroom seems a bit empty without you, so does the student section in my heart.  We miss you at Dan F. Long Middle School.

I'm a Parent at DFL middle school and our family is praying for you. There is no answer to the question why? Why so young was Chris taken from Earth. I know HE has a purpose. He is an Angel now looking over and taking care of us.

Being the father of a child my heart hurts for you and words cannot express how I feel.... I think back to my last talk with Chris and William in the Club House at the apartments and I am glad God allowed me that moment to share with him... I am praying for you and your family that through this time of griff God brings a peace beyond understanding, for it is in Him we find comfort and a place of refuge....

There are no words to express how sorry I am.  I am comforted by the many memories of Chris that make me laugh.  He always had a smile on his face and was always acting silly.  In fact, when he was in my class, he was crowned Mr. Silly at our end of year celebration.  I was honored to be his teacher.  My thoughts and prayers of comfort and healing are with you all.
